Access
The practice is a single storey building with parking for 25 cars. There are no steps to the front door and all internal areas of the practice can be easily accessed as there are no internal stairs, steps or narrow corridors. We have 4 designated disabled parking bays.
Zero Tolerance
The practice supports the Government’s NHS zero tolerance campaign. We ask patients to treat GPs and practice staff courteously, without violence or abuse.
History of Bradgate Surgery
Dr Jean Fraser and Dr Sheila Fraser OBE were the first doctors to practice on the Henbury estate in 1949, where they had a surgery on Arnall Drive. In time the practice grew and moved to a bungalow at No 1 Charlton Lane. From then on it was known as Bradgate Surgery, named after the original builder of the bungalow. Over the years the Fraser sisters retired, new doctors came in and the practice expended further. In 1989 we had the chance to build new premises on the land next to the old surgery. We took the name with us and continue as Bradgate Surgery.
Practice Area
The practice covers the areas of: Brentry, Henbury, Southmead and Westbury on Trym. However, we also have patients who live in the areas of Coombe Dingle, Hallen, the top of Long Cross, Easter Compton and parts of Henleaze. If you are moving house or wish to join the practice please ask us whether your address will be in our catchment area.
